Monza coach Palladino: Bologna deserve the Champions League

Monza coach Raffaele Palladino was delighted with their 0-0 draw against Bologna.

Palladino says Bologna deserve a top four finish this season.

He stated: "Today we played a great match. However, I must congratulate Bologna because they are a great team. Today we had to have great respect for the opponent and we did it as best we could. We entered the pitch with a spirit of sacrifice and great team spirit The match was fair, despite the difficulties created by Bologna. I thanked the boys because they had a great mentality today.

"It was a fair match against a team fighting for the Champions League. We had respect but not fear: we defended ourselves well. Only Milan and Inter have won here, and it's not easy to come here to score points. We are were good at playing with personality: I promised the boys that in case of a result I would take them to dinner... I'll have to pay.

"Bologna deserves the Champions League because they have never had physical and technical declines. For me, considering what they are experiencing, they deserve the Europe of the greats. We must continue like this with this spirit and this mentality. Now let's think about Atalanta after enjoying ourselves these beautiful moments. We don't have any goals: we just want to do our best from here to the end."
