The South African forward joined the Canadian club following an impressive breakthrough campaign with Mamelodi Sundowns, but struggled to establish himself, making just eight first-team appearances.
Although his contract was due to run until December 2026, with an option for a further year, Mailula spent much of his time away from the club on loan.
His representatives, P Management, confirmed that the player initiated discussions over an early exit in a bid to revive his career with regular first-team football.
Toronto accepted the request, allowing both parties to part ways amicably. Mailula is now a free agent and available to sign for a new club immediately as he looks to restart his career.
