Viktor Gyokeres has spoken out following Sweden’s disappointing World Cup qualifying loss to Kosovo that led to the sacking of head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.

Sweden are on the brink of failing to qualify for next year’s World Cup having lost three consecutive qualifiers since the start of the new season.

A 1-0 home defeat to Kosovo on Monday (October 13) ended up being Tomasson’s last as manager as he was sacked the day after.

Gyokeres, 27, started alongside Liverpool striker Alexander Isak in the defeat to Kosovo, but they both failed when their country needed them most.

Speaking after the game, the Arsenal ace couldn’t help but vent his frustration, describing the situation as a ‘fiasco.’

He told Viaplay: "We don't want to win the game that much, I think that was obvious; you could see from our body language that we don't want to win that much.

“So, it's difficult against any opponent. We're not giving our best, we're not fully focused on defence and passing. This has to do with attitude.

“We were unlucky against Slovenia and Switzerland, but in these two games against Kosovo, we didn't deserve anything. Of course, it's a fiasco."
