Portugal claimed their first-ever FIFA U-17 World Cup title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Austria in a thrilling final at Doha’s Khalifa International Stadium.

Anisio Cabral’s first-half goal proved decisive to complete a dream 2025 double for the reigning U-17 European champions.

Austria, appearing in their first World Cup final at any level, pressed tirelessly for an equaliser, coming agonisingly close when Daniel Frauscher struck the inside of the post late in the match.

Cabral’s strike, his seventh of the tournament, showcased Portugal’s slick attacking play, although Johannes Moser of Austria finished with more goals to claim the Golden Boot.

Austria refused to fold, and Cunha made key saves, including from Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Deshishku. Even at the late pressure, Portugal held on, sparking jubilant celebrations and securing their nation’s first U-17 World Cup triumph.
