The Three Lions secured their place in the expanded knockout stages as winners of Group L with seven points on the board, after wins over Croatia and Panama either side of a 0-0 stalemate against Ghana,
DR Congo are now on the horizon after they ended the first phase as the best third-placed team led by the goals of Newcastle United striker Yoane Wissa.
However, Tuchel's preparations for the game have been hit by yet more fitness issues at right-back, with Reece James still out of action with a hamstring problem.
James missed the Panama win, after starting against Croatia and Ghana, and his replacement Jarell Quansah was then forced off against the Panamanians.
Tuchel confirmed both players will be absent against Wissa & Co and Tottenham's Djed Spence is on course to step and return to the starting XI.
"They are getting close," Tuchel said of the missing duo. "In the nature of their injury, Jarell is a little bit ahead of Reece.
"But the race was close even to make it into the match squad this time, so we need to make sure we have more matches. That's the main focus, and then they will be available very soon."
Declan Rice has passed a late fitness test and will also rotate back in as a replacement for Morgan Rogers.
