Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Aston Villa midfielder Tielemans this week in what looks like a done deal between both parties as the Red Devils trigger his £35M release clause.
French international Digne is now set to follow the Belgian out of the club this summer in what is a huge squad shift under manager Unai Emery.
This comes from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano who states that the defender has already accepted his role with the European champions.
“Lucas Digne to Paris Saint-Germain, here we go! Verbal agreement done with the French left back.
“PSG already informed Aston Villa: they will pay the release clause after the World Cup, fee under €10m.
“Digne accepted role as Nuno Mendes’ backup at PSG.”
The 32-year-old made 44 appearances last season and proved vital for Villa’s Europa League winning campaign. Losing him will be a great loss but it is clear that the Premier League side are keen on bringing in a younger talent to replace him.
Digne previously played for PSG between 2013 and 2016 and will blend well with the squad who have several French stars who will already know the defender heading into the new campaign.
