The 18-year-old midfielder has been one of the breakout stars of this summer's tournament, and despite having represented France throughout youth level, he's made it clear that he only wants to represent The Atlas Lions, per Yahoo Sports.
"No regrets whatsoever," Bouaddi said after the defeat when asked about his decision.
"I'm really proud that I chose Morocco."
Bouaddi was originally born in France with Moroccan parents, and it looked likely that he would represent Les Bleus on the international stage having made 27 appearances across youth level and even captained the France U21 side.
But the youngster was given no assurances by Didier Deschamps that he would be included in the World Cup 2026 squad, and so opted to play for Morocco under manager Mohamed Ouahbi which was announced by Morroco's FA one month before the tournament began.
Boudaddi continued: "This is my heart that decided this.
"I'm here and I'm proud to represent Morocco."
The Lille midfielder played in all five of Morocco's matches at the WC, and became the second-youngest player to feature at a World Cup quarter-final, behind only Brazil's Pelé.
"Whatever happens we will always play for our jersey," Bouaddi added. "We want to make sure that the Moroccan people are proud of us, and we know what we'll have to do next time to advance even more."
