Abate started his managerial career with his former side’s under-19s before moving on to Ternana and then Juve Stabia.

He impressed during his time at Juve Stabia, guiding them to a seventh-place finish in Serie A before being knocked out of the play-offs by Monza.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Abate is now set to take over at Torino following a meeting between sporting director Gianluca Petrachi and president Urbano Cairo on Monday.

It’s understood that he will put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the club.
