The 67-year-old former Chelsea, Juventus and Napoli manager returns to the Italian top flight ready to reintroduce his trademark “Sarrismo” philosophy in Bergamo.
“Atalanta BC are pleased to announce the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as Head Coach of the First Team,” the club announced.
“Throughout his distinguished managerial career, Sarri has taken charge of more than 800 professional matches, with a trophy cabinet highlighted by a UEFA Europa League title and a Serie A championship.
“Last season, he led Lazio to the Coppa Italia final, having previously guided the Biancocelesti to a second-place finish in Serie A in 2022/23 and to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 in 2023/24, the second-best result in the Roman club's history in Europe's premier club competition.”
