The 28-year-old has failed to make any real impact since joining AC Milan from Chelsea last summer, scoring just six goals and providing three assists in his 32 games.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club held a meeting with Nkunku’s agent Pini Zahavi, telling him that they are looking to sell the forward.
It’s understood that AC Milan are looking for a fee of around €40 million for the Frenchman as they want to avoid making a net loss on the player they signed for €37m plus bonuses.
Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski, who will become a free agent in the summer, is AC Milan’s primary target to replace Nkunku.
