Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he will not hang up his boots until he reaches 1000 career goals.

Ronaldo bagged a brace against Al-Akhdoud at the week as Al-Nassr secured a 3-0 victory. These goals took Ronaldo’s career tally to 956 and as he approaches his 41st birthday he will be thinking about adding those last 44 goals over the next few years.

The Portuguese superstar was awarded with the Best Middle East Player trophy at Sunday’s Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai and opened up on his goal, which he believes he will reach one day.

"It's hard to continue playing, but I am motivated.

"My passion is high, and I want to continue. It doesn't matter where I play, whether in the Middle East or Europe. I always enjoy playing football and I want to keep going.

"You know what my goal is. I want to win trophies and I want to reach that number (1,000 goals) that you all know. I will reach the number for sure, if no injuries."

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star has a contract until 2027, which would take him past his 42nd birthday. 44 more goals is possible, but as Ronaldo grows older he is more likely to pick up injuries which could destroy his ambition.

Ronaldo has now scored more than 40 times in 14 different calendar years across his career, and will be aiming to reach at least 960 goals by the end of this season.
