Freddie Woodman has spoken on his Premier League debut for the side during the Merseyside derby against Everton and training with the Liverpool side.

Liverpool's back-up goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was forced off on a stretcher with a concerning injury during the first Merseyside Derby at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday.

This allowed Woodman to step in during the second half as the 29-year-old kept Everton out and impressed supporters who may see him against for the Crystal Palace clash this weekend.

Woodman admitted after the game that his nerves were getting to him during the clash as he stepped up for the side where he says his dreams have come true.

"It's a little nerve-racking to be honest. But I think the nerves sort of fuel you to want to do well and not to let people down, really.

"When you're called upon, you just want to be reliable. That's what it feels like and, to be honest, I was just happy to have to get over the line. Then to win it the way we did was incredible.

"It's easy here. You know, Mo Salah is coming to you and saying he wants to do extra shooting. It's every kid's dream. For me, I've watched him over the last seven to eight years.

"To build a relationship with Robbo, Curtis, Cody, Virgil... I saw these guys last season as superstars. You come in, and you realize that they're just normal blokes and they're good people. It's been really nice to build those relationships."

As Liverpool chase down Champions League football without both Alisson Becker and Mamardashvili, Woodman may step up once more against the Eagles as the club aim to cement their place amongst Europe’s best for next season
