The Englishman Villa felt his team showed strong character to respond after going behind but admitted there was disappointment at failing to hold onto their advantage.
“Tough, really tough game, in recent weeks they've become a lot stronger, City came here and only won 1-0 so it's always difficult to come here. A valuable point after going a goal behind but it's disappointing really, going in-front and letting it slip away,” he told Premier League website.
“We had an amazing result in Europe a few days ago and the amount of energy, effort you put into those games, leaving it all out on the pitch.
“Going again and recovering to play in 48 hours is tough and we’re playing a team strong and obviously point to prove, trying to get as many points as they can until the end of the season, it’s tough playing teams who don’t play midweek and have a lot of energy.”
