Saka is still feeling the effects of an Achilles issue sustained during the second half of Arsenal’s Premier League-winning campaign but is said to be ready to make an impact against Croatia.
The Gunners star has scored 14 goals for his country in total, last scoring in November against Serbia.
As the pressure grows ahead of England’s opening clash against Croatia, manager Thomas Tuchel has some tough choices to make as he readies his starting eleven which reports suggest will already be without Marc Guehi.
One player who will be must start is Saka, a player Valencia believes will be crucial for Tuchel as he spoke to Hajper about how he hopes he gets a chance to prove his worth.
“Saka is doing well. He has grown a lot as a footballer. He is a player I really like. When he has the ball, he goes forward. He does not hide.
“He has had an impressive Premier League season. Arsenal have won, and after so much time, he has helped give the fans an important trophy. His football has grown.
“I hope this World Cup belongs to him, that he can do interesting things and that people can enjoy him, especially the English fans, because he is a player England really need.”
Reports claim that ahead of the Croatia clash, Saka’s Arsenal teammate Noni Madueke is set to start ahead of him as he recovers from an injury that he will be relieved to know isn’t too serious.
