According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the North London club have identified Barrios, 22, as the perfect man to do just that.
It’s understood that the Atletico Madrid man has a €120 million release clause in his contract, although it’s unlikely Spurs would be willing to pay so much.
Still, it would likely take a club record bid to persuade Atletico to sell of their best players, with the current highest transfer fee Spurs have paid being £65 million for Dominic Solanke.
