The 21-year-old is widely expected to leave West Ham this summer following their relegation from the Premier League.
It’s understood that the East London club are in need of raising around £150 million in player sales to help ease financial constraints.
Fernandes’ sale would represent a huge portion of that, with West Ham said to be demanding a fee of around £80 million for the midfielder.
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Tottenham are now looking like his most likely destination, overtaking Man United.
He reports that Fernandes has given a green light to the move and would be willing to sign a deal keeping him in North London until 2031, with an option for another year.
United aren’t ready to give up on Fernandes, however, and will continue their pursuit.
