Chelsea’s sixth consecutive Premier League defeat came on Monday against relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge as the Blues put in another pathetic performance.
The West London side are now ninth in the Premier League as their campaign continues to collapse, leaving them far away from the European qualification spots.
Blues legend Silva, 41, was at Stamford Bridge for the clash alongside the likes of Thomas Tuchel who is scouting for the World Cup and Roberto De Zerbi who will have been interested to see how his next opponents line up.
Silva could barely watch as he rubbed his eyes and looked close to tears in the stands watching his former side fall further down in the table, now 4 points away from 4th place Bournemouth.
Chelsea's latest defeat mathematically rules them out of finishing in the top five, leaving the ninth-placed club chasing a European spot via an FA Cup victory over Manchester City.
However, this would hand the club Europa League football instead of Champions League football which, after spending billions in recent years, is simply not good enough.
Meahwhile, the win takes Forest past the coveted 40-points mark and puts even more breathing space between them and West Ham, as they push away from the relegation zone.
