Sunderland chiefs respond to Juventus plans for Xhaka

The veteran midfielder arrived in the summer from Bayer Leverkusen and was immediately installed as club captain.

Xhaka's impact has many pundits claiming the former Arsenal skipper is the signing of the season.

And such has been his form that Juventus are exploring the prospect of signing Xhaka in January with claims that Sunderland would be willing to sell for €20-25m.

However, ChronicleLive says Sunderland have no intention to lose Xhaka midseason and will not consider any offers for the veteran.
