Liverpool manager Arne Slot has backed Florian Wirtz to score 'many more' after he got his first goal for the club in their 2-1 Premier League win over Wolves.

The 22-year-old’s 42nd minute goal ended up being Liverpool’s winner as they climbed back into the top four with a win over Wolves at Anfield.

Wirtz’s performance was probably his best in a Liverpool shirt, creating the most chances (3), the most dribbles (7), and the most duels (11).

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Slot backed the £116 million man to score ‘many more’ after finally getting his first in 23 games across all competitions.

"The team have seen how much he (Wirtz) did already for us, creating chances and being so close to a goal,” he said.

“He will go on and score many more goals than one for us. I think Florian did more than only score today."
