Many had expected Sancho to join Chelsea on a permanent basis at the end of last season, but the West London club ultimately paid £5 million not to sign him.
The 25-year-old was a prominent member of Man United’s infamous ‘bomb squad’ alongside the likes of Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony throughout the summer.
Sancho had to wait until transfer deadline day for a Premier League club to come in for him, rejecting moves to the Serie A, most notably Roma in order to secure the move.
Speaking to Villa TV, Sancho revealed he spoke to former teammate Rashford, who spent the second half of 2024-25 at the club, about a potential move.
He said: "I spoke to (Rashford) while he was here last season and I know he really enjoyed it. He said so many lovely things about the club, like how it’s a family and you feel that friendly environment with great players and staff. I definitely felt that as I came in."
