Former Manchester United star Roy Keane has called out Nottingham Forest players for their treatment of former manager Ange Postecoglou.

Postecoglou was relieved of his duties following Forest's crushing 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday after failing to win a single game with the Premier League side in 8 games.

Keane was not happy with the treatment of Postecoglou and jumped to his defence on the latest episode of Stick to Football. The former Irish international criticised them for their part in Postecoglou's dismissal and suggested that they did not try to perform for the Australian.

“You look at the Forest players and the chances they had. What chance has he (Postecoglou) got? Did they really want to score?

“Did they want to keep him in the job? I’m on about good players not even hitting the target.

“Then the manager loses his job, you look at these Forest players, and they’re like, “oh well, another manager has gone, a new one comes in, you know.”

“Idiots, honestly.”

Postecoglou inspired Spurs to Europa League glory last season but could only manage a 17th place finish in the Premier League, leading to his sacking. His failures carried over to Forest and owner Evangelos Marinakis made his second sacking of the season after letting Nuno Espirito Santo go.

Survival specialist Sean Dyche is now in charge, whilst Nuno finds himself at West Ham. Postecoglou is now without a job once more but could make a Premier League return if the likes of Wolves and Burnley keep struggling.
