Despite their promising season so far, Fowler is yet to be convinced whether Daniel Farke can keep the current team in the Premier League.
He explained to Tribalfootball.com: "Unfortunately not at the minute, if I'm being totally honest. After their first game when they beat Everton I thought, yes I can see Leeds doing okay. But then they're just maybe going into freefall where they're just not getting results. Other teams seem to know how to play against them.
"As someone who likes Leeds, I am genuinely a little bit worried to be honest because I can see them struggling. I don't want them to struggle because I've got a lot of time for them and I’ve got a lot of friends who still support them.
"But when you look at the teams who have come up, Sunderland have had a great start and they were a lot of people's tips to go down along with Burnley. Burnley have had a bit of an indifferent start as well."
Rough days ahead
Fowler also warned: "The saving grace for the three teams that have come up is that Wolves are having a bit of a stinker as well.
"I can see a little bit of a struggle for Leeds and I'm more surprised by the fact that they've been in the Premier League and knew what it takes to stay up and galvanize and do what's needed to stay in the league.
"And they're not there yet. They have struggled a little bit, so I’m putting my little tin hat on here but I can see a few rough days for them."
