United suffered a 4-4 draw at home to Bournemouth on Monday night in a subpar defensive performance which sums up the Red Devils’ poor support at the back under manager Ruben Amorim.
Antonee Robinson, who has been a target for United for the past year, has been at Fulham since 2020. The Cottagers signed the 28-year-old for just £2M from Wigan Athletic and as transfer rumours grow they are set to make a major profit on the experienced defender.
Speaking to casinostugan, Riise has suggested that if a bid does come in from United, Robinson won’t be able to resist.
‘The best players will get picked up by the big clubs. He’s one of the left-backs that I really want to see get back to 100 per cent shape and show what he can do.
"Could he thrive at Man Utd? Sadly, yes. I know Fulham fans also think the same thing, even though they want the players to stay at the club.
"Fans are realistic, they know how it is. Players want to take steps forward, and if the club doesn’t do that, then they will go. Like I said, if Man Utd come for him, how can he say no? It’s just hard."
Robinson collected 10 assists across 36 top-flight games last season under manager Marco Silva, who is reportedly ready for bids for the defender in the January transfer window. However, a summer bid is more likely for United, who are still restructuring their midfield.
