Despite that, the Premier League club have confirmed that the Mexico international will leave as a free agent once his contract expires on June 30.
Fulham are hoping to keep star man Wilson, however, and have offered him a new contract following his 11 goals and eight assists in 41 games.
It remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old will put pen to paper on the deal with Aston Villa said to be waiting in the wings.
