According to the BBC, eleven people were taken to hospital after two men boarded a train from Doncaster to London and carried out a stabbing attack.
Police were called to Huntingdon railway station at around 7:42 p.m. on Saturday. A 32-year-old man and a 35-year-old man have since been arrested and questioned in connection with the incident.
Crean, a 61-year-old Nottingham Forest fan sustained stab wounds intervening in the violent attack on an LNER train from Doncaster to London on November 2, 2025.
Forest released a statement after the incident stating that they would provide financial assistance to any fan caught up.
According to journalist Max Scott, Mariniakis has lived up to his word, donating £10,000 to Crean’s Just Giving page after he suffered stab wounds to his head, back, and hands.
The club have also gifted Crean with a complimentary season ticket for the 2026–27 campaign and invited him to join the squad on a private charter flight to a Europa League fixture, where he will stay at the team hotel and watch the match alongside the Forest delegation in the directors’ box.
