Ex-Chelsea winger Pat Nevin has heaped praise on to Estevao as he continues to impress this season.

The 18-year-old made his long-awaited move to Chelsea in the summer as he left Brazilian side Palmeiras and joined the West London club who have given him plenty of opportunities to impress on the pitch.

Estevao slotted in the winning goal against Liverpool before the October international break and scored twice in Brazil's 5-0 victory over South Korea earlier this week as he continues his upwards trajectory.

Speaking to OLBG, Nevin believes the sky is the limit for Estevao who he believes can become a club legend.

“Style-wise, Chelsea have got this long list from Gianfranco Zola, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata was much, much loved down there. It goes all the way back to Charlie Cooke. Chelsea have got a whole list of these little creative players that they absolutely love.

“Estevao will be one of them. If Chelsea treat him right, if they stick by him, if he doesn't get injured, he will be in that pantheon.

“There's a couple of ifs in there, but definitely capable. Which one of them is he more like? He's probably closer to Neymar. He's not really like them.

“But creative, small, playing for Chelsea and could be world-class very soon. He's up there, and he should be one of them because he's good enough.”

Chelsea’s start to the season has been mixed and Estevao has been a silver lining under manager Enzo Maresca, who is keen to get him on the pitch. If he keeps his work rate and ability up, Nevin may be proven right as he becomes a player to remember.
