The legendary Egyptian will leave Anfield at the end of the season after an exceptional nine years on Merseyside, where he's completely dominated Premier League defences.
Salah's wand of a left foot has contributed to most of his 257 goals in 440 appearances for the club, and he will go down as one of the club's greatest-ever players.
But the hardest part for Liverpool is replacing someone who has delivered outrageous consistency - at least before this campaign - with Michael Owen pinpointing Jarrod Bowen as an ideal successor.
Owen believes that, if West Ham suffer relegation to the Championship, Arne Slot should look at Bowen as a possible heir to the Egyptian's throne.
“Jarrod Bowen’s a legend of a player, West Ham adore the man, and rightly so. But if West Ham went down, he would fit for me, he’s absolutely brilliant," the former Liverpool striker told talkSPORT.
"I was lucky to do a striking masterclass for a TV show we did last season with him and I couldn’t believe it. Honestly, left foot, right foot, bang, bang, bang, a real top finisher.
"I don’t want to upset West Ham fans, but if they do go down, he would be my idea of someone to replace Salah.”
In a dismal campaign, Bowen's quality in the final third has given the Hammers a chance of staying in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has plundered six goals and supplied 10 assists in England's top-flight this term, which is impressive for a team fighting against relegation.
Bowen has been West Ham's saviour for years, and even scored the winner in their Europa Conference League triumph in 2023. So, if he does leave the club in the summer, no one can argue against that decision.
