Amorim says he wants to stay with United for 20 years.
He told ESPN: "I want to stay for 20 years. That's my goal and I really believe in that. Something will happen. It always does. Sometimes I'll get lucky. I've been very lucky during my coaching career and my intention is to stay here for many years.
"On the other hand, we know that it is the results that decide. I know that I did not succeed last year, but I am ready to start again. I have no doubt (about success), because some things you cannot buy with money and the club has those things. The history. The supporters. The money. We have money even without Champions League games."
The 40-year-old has formed a new leadership group among the players, consisting of Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazaroui, Tom Heaton and captain Bruno Fernandes.
He continued, "Changing the culture is more of a club thing than a coach thing. I can't do it on my own. This year I feel like I have more people who can do it. The leadership group doesn't just consist of Bruno or Harry, but six players who are responsible for the group. I had to handle some things last season and now I've told them to handle those things. The little bits are up to them. They are responsible for making sure everyone is doing their job.
"We have new rules and that is not to treat the players like children. They have sons. I treat them like men, but there are rules now. It can change how you train. If you don't train right, I have a picture to show you. If you train badly even once, I will show the picture to everyone. I will not only talk to you, but show everything."
