Former Chelsea manager Maresca, 46, has been linked with a return to Man City, where he served as an assistant to the legendary Spaniard.
It has previously been reported that one of the reasons he left Chelsea was because he had informed the higher-ups of his desire to take over at Man City.
City have now held ‘positive talks’ with the Italian amid growing speculation Guardiola will step away this summer.
