Eichhorn, 16, has had a breakout season with Hertha Berlin, making 18 appearances across all competitions, popping up with two assists.
The defensive midfielder reportedly has a €12 million release clause in his contract, and Man City are ready to activate it.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, City want to sign Eichhorn and then immediately ship him out on loan to Bayer Leverkusen.
The youngster won’t be able to properly join the Premier League side until he turns 18 due to post-Brexit registration rules.
Eichhorn has plenty of admirers, however, with Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig all interested.
