Despite the 3-2 loss to Manchester United last week, Liverpool remain in fourth position in the Premier League table, six points clear of sixth-placed Bournemouth with just three rounds to play.
Freddie Woodman played 90 minutes in the clash, deputizing for Alisson Becker and Mamardashvili who have been out injured for a number of weeks.
However, Woodman will step aside for the Chelsea game this weekend as the Georgian returns to the line-up for the first time since he picked up an injury against Everton back in April.
Mamardashvili made his Premier League debut for the Reds during October’s defeat against Stamford Bridge and returns to face Chelsea, this time at Anfield.
Liverpool’s No.1 goalkeeper Alisson remains on the sidelines but manager Arne Slot did confirm he was back in training this week alongside Mohamed Salah who also isn’t named in the squad to face the Blues.
Meanwhile, Rio Ngumoha starts in attack as the teenager brings some much-needed spark out wide for Slot and his attack who are without the likes of Salah and Hugo Ekitike for the clash.
Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, and Wataru Endo, are also still unavailable due to ongoing injuries and Slot will have to deal once more with a Liverpool bench made up of academy prospects.
