Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has revealed that he is unsure on his future as the summer approaches.

Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson have already announced they will leave the club at the end of the current campaign.

Goalkeeper Alisson Becker is being linked to Juventus, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones are reportedly set to hold talks on their future whilst Federico Chiesa is reportedly ready to return to Italy.

Now, speaking to reporters, including the Liverpool Echo, Gomez has become the next Reds star to imply that his time on Merseyside is over.

“I think anything can happen. I don’t know is the honest answer. I’ve only got a year left on my contract, so I don’t know,” he said.

“Whatever’s meant to be will be, but at this club.

“I always will be grateful to have had 11 years at a place like this. All I can do is be thankful and we’ll see.”

The England international has started just 15 matches in all competitions this season, making 31 total appearances with 14 of those coming at right-back as he covered for Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong.

Gomez is out of contract at the end of next season and will face more competition for places in the back four as the likes of Geovanni Leoni return from injury and Jeremy Jacquet sign for the club this summer.

The versatile 28-year-old has made just six Premier League starts this term and after making 272 appearances for the club, he may say farewell with his teammates at Anfield on the final day of the campaign.
