Ward-Prowse, 31, joined the Hammers from Southampton in August 2023 and made 78 appearances over the course of the last 3 years.

"As soon as I heard of Burnley's interest and spoke to the manager, I knew this loan spell was just what I needed," said Ward-Prowse about Burnley boss Scott Parker.

"There's a big battle between now and the end of the season, but I'm going to relish every moment."

As reported by West Ham Zone, Burnley will pay around £2M over the course of his stay at Turf Moor, as the Hammers cover £37.5K per week of his £125K per week salary, working out as a total of £825K.

Ward-Prowse has not played a single minute of football since Nuno arrived at the club and has seen himself on loan with Nottingham Forest where he returned to join up with West Ham for the second half of the campaign due to his limited involvement.

The two-time West Ham Player of the Year will now aim to get more minutes on the pitch with Burnley who are fighting against relegation under Parker.
