Isak has since seen a £110m offer from Liverpool rejected by Newcastle and is now attempting to force through a move to Anfield from his end.
The Athletic says Isak has let it be known he views his Newcastle career as "finished" and he has "no desire" of pulling on a black-and-white shirt ever again.
For manager Eddie Howe, he views Isak's attitude as something he wants to keep away from the dressing room. Howe has already ruled out bringing Isak back into the fold ahead of their Premier League kickoff against Aston Villa.
