Alexander-Arnold will have a break over the coming fortnight after not being called up by Thomas Tuchel to the England national team squad. He has been pushed aside by Madrid manager Xabi Alonso since his move, which many see as a failure so far.
After two decades with Liverpool, the right-back joined Real Madrid in June in what was one of the most controversial moves in recent history. The Reds brought in Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen to replace Alexander-Arnold but the fullback has been slightly underwhelming so far.
Speaking to Adventure Gamers, Hamman opened up on how Liverpool will start to miss Alexander-Arnold the more the season goes on as manager Arne Slot misses the qualities he brings to the side.
"Trent Alexander-Arnold will get a mixed reaction due to the way he left the club. I hope he receives a good reception. I think he deserves a hero's welcome. He was loved by the city, gave everything for 10 years, and never cost the club a penny, despite leaving on a free. He's been a tremendous player.
"In the first couple of games, people are reluctant to admit it because many are upset about his departure, but Liverpool miss him. He was a playmaker from the right-back position. While Dominik Szoboszlai can now fill that role, players like Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley aren't the same.
“I believe there will be times when people realise they miss him, and that's why he should get a hero's reception. I fear he won't, but I wish he does."
Arne Slot's defending champions secured a potentially massive 1-0 win over Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday and are unbeaten so far in the Premier League. However, they have conceded 4 times in 3 games and may be missing the England international’s ability at the back like Hamman says.
