Manchester City are expected to sell several players this summer as the club prepare for the post-Pep Guardiola era.

Guardiola has moved on after a sensational decade of dominance in Manchester and the former Barcelona boss is expected to be replaced by his old assistant Enzo Maresca

City chiefs remain in talks with Chelsea over a compensation package to bring Maresca back to the Etihad Stadium and the Italian coach will be given a sizeable transfer budget to work with - funded by player sales and Savinho looks certain to move on.

Guardiola signed the Brazil international in June 2024, after a superb season on loan at Girona, with a £30M deal viewed as a sharp piece of business for a tricky winger tipped to lighten the load on Erling Haaland.

Two Premier League goals scored across two seasons is a stark indication of his struggles in Manchester - balanced against 16 assists in all competitions - and Tottenham are on course to revive their interest in him after seeing a January loan offer rejected by City.

Roberto De Zerbi has focused on bringing in new defenders so far in the summer transfer window, but former City striker Jo believes the Italian coach could be a perfect match for Savinho.

"Looking at it objectively, Savinho started well. City's squad is full of quality, especially in wide positions where competition is intense. That makes things difficult for him. He's developed well, but injuries have caused a decline. Guardiola also stopped using him regularly and he didn't get a run of games," he told Bolavip.

"A move to Tottenham could be very positive. He'd get more minutes and have greater consistency than if he stays at City.

"At another club, he'd arrive with the reputation of being a Man City player and someone expected to contribute immediately. He can still succeed at City, but that constant competition is part of football."
