“It’s incredible”, he said. “In the last game, when I was warming up, you could feel that people expect something from me. I’m very happy about that.
“I try to repay it on the field and make them proud. I can see how much they value me and want me there. My feeling is that I can’t let them down, I want to help and make them proud.”
He added: “On the pitch, things are going well. I’m adapting faster than I expected to the Premier League, to (Enzo) Maresca’s style and to European football.
“I’m not 100 per cent adapted yet, but definitely more than I imagined. I’m happy to be playing for a big club in Europe.”
