Estevao has joined Carlo Ancelotti and his Brazil teammates after proving the matchwinner against Liverpool on the weekend.
Speaking with reporters, the teen discussed his role with the Selecao and also his early impact at Chelsea.
Brazil and Chelsea roles
"At Chelsea, I often play on the right. Even in training, I've played in various attacking positions to broaden my repertoire and have more options. I played on the wing; in the last match, I moved into the middle and stayed in the center. I'm open to different types of play, whatever is available, inside or outside. Here, I do what's best for the Brazilian national team."
Competition with Raphinha and Vini Jr
"They're high-quality players who make up the national team's attack, and it's clear that the competition is fierce. I see it as a motivation to continue to grow in football, to work hard, and to be here. I see it as a way to evolve. I have to work harder at Chelsea, work harder here, to make a growing contribution and, God willing, be at the World Cup."
Staying focused amid career changes.
"I'm a very calm guy in that sense, a lot of it comes from my family, my immediate family, who are always by my side in these times. So, whenever I have these moments of glory or difficulty, I always try to talk to them, I vent to them, and for me it's much easier, because they're my parents, my parents who help me, who know my flaws, they know my strengths.
"So I think part of this unity, of everything I have, is thanks to them, and they are my idols, so I have to take a cue from them. All my confidence, for everything I'm experiencing here, is thanks to God."
Difference between Brazil and Chelsea
"From my point of view, it's different because it's a mix of players who play in different countries, in other places, players who play in the Brasileirão, who play in the Premier League, who play in La Liga. Not just these leagues, but others as well. I think this diversity, this experience everyone has within their own league, makes the Seleção Brasiliana a special place. Many athletes here have experience. So, for sure, it's a really special place."
Adjusting to English life
"My adjustment to England is going much faster than I expected. It's a different country, a different culture, very different things, but thank God I'm adapting as quickly as possible. I'm not 100% settled in yet, but it's definitely more than I expected."
