According to French outlet Foot Mercato, the 23-year-old has agreed personal terms with Man City and is pushing to join former manager Maresca.
Gusto has been a rare hit for BlueCo’s recruitment, joining from Lyon for a reported €30 million in January 2023 and establishing himself as a key player.
The defender has made 134 appearances across all competitions, contributing three goals and 17 assists during his time at the club.
Incoming Man City boss Maresca is said to be incredibly keen on getting the move over the line, viewing Gusto as a key part of his new sporting project.
It’s been reported that Chelsea aren’t actively looking to sell him, but value Gusto at £75 million. It remains to be seen whether City would be willing to pay that.
