Manchester United’s Patrick Dorgu is set to miss around 10 weeks due to a hamstring injury.

United beat Premier League leaders Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates in what was another shock victory for interim boss Michael Carrick who led his led to a win over rivals Manchester City the week before.

Dorgu was outstanding in the clash, hammering home the second goal with a fine strike past goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

However, he was forced off after sustaining an injury while chasing a long ball in the second-half and now reports have suggested that fans must fear the worst over the knock he picked up.

The Athletic report that United are still assessing the extent of the injury but that he is expected to have suffered a hamstring injury which will leave him out of action for around 10 weeks.

This means he will miss the next 8 games against the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United as well as Everton and Bournemouth.

Carrick said post-match on Sunday that the extent of the injury was hard to tell:

“He obviously came off with, hopefully, a little bit of cramp, hopefully, it’s nothing worse. At this stage, it’s hard to tell, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it’s not too bad.”

The Denmark international has made 22 Premier League appearances, registering three goals and three assists since joining the club last season and has picked up 2 goals and 1 assist in his last 5 league games.

He will now join fellow defender Matthijs de Ligt on the sidelines, a player who has missed the last 11 games with a back issue sustained in December.
