Liverpool’s initial proposal worth €100M was lodged this week, only for RB Leipzig to turn it down as they remain reluctant to sell the Ivory Coast international this summer.
After signing Osasuna winger Victor Munoz for £34.5M, the Reds are keen on adding to their attack which has lost Mohamed Salah whose future is still up in the air after departing the club.
Leipzig signed the 19 year old from Leganes for £17.3M last summer and are now set to more than triple their money on the teenager who grabbed 13 goals and 9 assists last season.
As Diomande ponders his future, Liverpool are preparing a second bid as revealed by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
“Liverpool are prepared to bid again for Yan Diomandé after opening €100m proposal got rejected.
“RB Leipzig insist to keep Diomandé for one more season, player prefers to leave now.”
Diomande is Liverpool’s priority target and the Premier League side are unlikely to stop their chase if it means paying an extra £20M-£30M for the winger who is one of the most wanted in world football.
The youngster stood out once again in Ivory Coast's 2-1 defeat to Germany on Saturday night, a game in which Liverpool will have kept a close eye on him.
