It’s understood that Palace were unwilling to part ways with Guehi because they were unable to sign an adequate replacement.
Guehi has since received plenty of interest from clubs in England and Europe hoping to sign him as a free agent at the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are looking to steal a march on the others and sign the England international in January.
The report adds that Crystal Palace believe Arne Slot’s side are the only ones willing to do so, although foreign clubs can negotiate a pre-agreement from January 1st.
