Neto apologised for the incident and gave his shirt to the ball boy after the game following what UEFA called “unsporting behaviour”.
The winger pushed the ball boy near the advertising hoardings while attempting to retrieve a ball to take a throw-in in a clip that went viral after the game.
Neto said that “with the emotions of the game” he “wanted to pick up the ball” and that the ball boy was “keeping the ball with him”.
At the time, Rosenior expressed regret over the incident which did not look good for Neto who was sent off against Arsenal the week before.
“I saw there was an altercation with the ball boy,” Chelsea’s head coach said. “But if there was anything from our side that was wrong or out of order, I apologise on behalf of the club. But I think Pedro has done in interviews. I genuinely haven’t seen it back.”
Despite his behaviour, Neto as avoided a ban after UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body investigated the matter and instead warned him instead of banning the Portuguese star.
This now means Neto will be available for Chelsea's crucial second-leg match at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday in what is a huge boost for manager Liam Rosenior who revealed Reece James is out through injury.
