The 46-year-old coming in to replace the legendary Pep Guardiola at Man City has been one of the worst kept secrets in football.
Maresca walked away from Chelsea on New Year’s Day after a falling out with the club’s hierarchy and a string of poor results over the festive period.
It’s since been reported that Maresca had informed Chelsea of his desire to join City and that he had held talks with the club over replacing Guardiola ahead of his departure.
According to Sky, the clubs have agreed a compensation package worth around £17 million to buy out the remainder of the Italian's deal.
He is now expected to travel to Manchester and put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the Etihad.
