Cashin played 45 minutes in each of the Marbella fixtures as Brighton prepared for preseason and looked strong throughout the game. Despite making very limited appearances for the Seagulls since joining the side from Derby County he has shown that a lot of quality behind the scenes which has warranted the move to Championship side Birmingham.
Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler opened up on the move and explained that it is the perfect chance for him to continue his development with consistent game time at a top side who were recently promoted to England’s second division.
“Eiran has benefitted from the period time he’s been with us and had a strong pre-season.
“This loan offers him the opportunity to play regularly, and continue his development. We’ll be keeping a close watch on him as the season progresses.”
The 23-year-old made 144 first team appearances for Derby and was integral in their promotion to the Championship before he joined Brighton. Birmingham will be hoping that he can bring that quality once again as they seek to climb back up to the Premier League.
