Nottingham Forest have failed with an opening bid for Strasbourg attacker Dilane Bakwa.

Forest tabled an offer of €35m for the 22 year-old, but it was rejected by Strasbourg, which share the same owners - BlueCo - as Chelsea.

For his part, Bakwa WANTS to make the move to the City Ground, says the BBC Sport.

Indeed, the player's camp is urging Forest to continue negotiations with Strasbourg this week. Forest's offer was staggered, with Strasbourg wanting a straight €35m up front plus bonuses.

Leeds United and Sunderland have also shown interest in France U21 international Bakwa.
