The Premier League champions lost 4-2 in their first pre-season game with several of their usually more reliable stars clearly a little rusty.
Liverpool have spent a lot of money this summer on some of the best attacking players in the world, signing Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekiteke but are starting to look short on numbers at the back following the sale of Jarell Quansah.
Speaking to the press after the game, Slot played down their need for defensive reinforcements as they prepare to defend their league title.
He said: "I don’t think we have a concern at centre-back. In terms of depth? I think Ryan showed today, by the way, that he can play in that position.
“He did it last season as well. Although we all know we favour him as a No.6. Wata (Endo) can play there. Joe Gomez only has a minor injury, he has been good for us last season as well.
“We have enough options left. But it’s true that Jarell Quansah left and we haven’t replaced him yet."
