Alexander Isak has opened up on his first impressions of Liverpool after completing a British-record transfer to Anfield.

The 26-year-old went on strike all summer in order to secure his move from Newcastle to current Premier League holders Liverpool.

Arne Slot’s side eventually paid £125 million to secure Isak’s services, and he has gone on to score one goal in his six appearances across all competitions so far.

Isak is understood to have kept a low profile since moving to Liverpool, focussing on getting back to full fitness after missing out on a pre-season with his new teammates.

He has now broken his silence on how he is adapting life in a new city, telling Sport Witness: "Great so far. A great team and a city where the team has a good relationship with the fans. It’s been great so far."

The striker, who is currently away with the Sweden national team, will doubtless be hoping their games against Switzerland and Kosovo could prove to be the catalyst he needs.
