Aldridge was impressed by Wirtz in the win against Crystal Palace on the weekend.
He wrote for the Liverpool Echo: "Florian Wirtz played well for Liverpool against Crystal Palace, but the challenge now is to make sure that he is involved a lot more when Liverpool go forward.
"Wirtz is a key player. So is Alexander Isak and so is Hugo Ekitike, although obviously he is now injured. It's up to the manager and his coaching team to work out how to set up this Liverpool side to get the best out of those players.
"Wirtz's involvement in Liverpool's second goal on Saturday was brilliant. He's a little genius, but his talents need to be utilised properly for the team's benefit.
"He should be given a video of Peter Beadsley to watch. Peter used to tackle back. Wirtz does try to get back but he's got to learn to defend a little bit better, position-wise as well. I know it's not his forte."
