According to The Athletic, the MLS side are also interested in signing soon-to-be free agent Goretzka once his Bayern Munich contract expires.
The Fire’s pursuit of Goretzka is in addition to their long-standing chase of Barcelona striker Lewandowski, with the two players having been teammates at Bayern between 2018 and 2022.
It’s understood a potential deal to sign the midfielder will be tricky, however, with several European clubs interested.
